Thermal Spreading

Thermal spreading is a serious problem in design of heat sinks for thermal management solutions. We used CFD to analyse several common thermal spreading scenarios and proposed optimal arrangements to minimise thermal resistance.

Vapour chamber optimisation

Vapour Chamber Optimisation

The vapour chamber is used for thermal spreading applications. We have developed novel analytical models for predicting and optimising vapour chamber performance which have been experimentally validated.

Transient response of bar

Transient Response

The transient response of a one-dimensional system offers interesting insights into the mathematics and physics of heat conduction. We developed analytical tools for determining this response for educational purposes.
